Abortion Fund of Ohio's Upcoming Events

Abortion Fund of Ohio regularly attends or hosts community events, which may range from fundraisers to community resource fairs to panels. For many events, we prepare a table to pass out resource information & provide free emergency contraception. See below for a lineup of upcoming events & details on AFO's involvement.

  • Abortion Care in Post-Dobbs Ohio Panel

Join us for OPEN's next research-driven webinar on October 6! Registration is required, and you can sign up here

"Abortion Care in Post-Dobbs Ohio: Understanding the Impacts on Those Who Guide but Don't (or Can't) Provide" will kick off with a presentation from OPEN researcher Dr. Michelle McGowan. McGowan will discuss possible impacts of Dobbs on genetic counselors and other health professionals involved in abortion care, based on her team's pre-Dobbs research.

Next, we will hear from Maggie Scotece and Rebecca Dussich during a panel discussion about the work being done in Ohio around (de)criminalization of all those involved in abortion care.

Finally, OPEN will facilitate a Q&A session with all webinar speakers.

We hope to see you on October 6! Registration for this webinar is required.

  • Columbus Community Pride 2022

AFO is proud to attend & table at this year's Columbus Community Pride! You can read up on the history of the event, donate, and get involved here.

    From the organizers:

"Columbus Community Pride will be on Saturday, October 8th from 12-7PM at Mayme Moore Park (835 Mt. Vernon Ave Columbus, OH). There will be workshops, performances, DJs, vendors, protest space, sensory area, and more. The festival is free and open to all.

We are thrilled to introduce Columbus Community Pride 2022: The Future is Queer. The Future is Queer pays homage to lasting resiliency of queer, trans, and intersex people of color. Our elders have led countless movements toward liberation throughout history and for generations we have persevered against relentless state violence against our people. Mama Major Griffin-Gracy said “I’m still fucking here!” and The Future is Queer honors this. Our community will only continue to grow – our generations are becoming queerer, we are cultivating deeper connections with our ancestors, and our youth and elders are coming out at the same time. The Future is Queer declares that queer, trans, and intersex folks will exist and thrive in the future and into infinity."
