Calling All Mask Makers!

Colorful Masks Hanging

WHO/O is asking our supporters to help prevent the spread of COVID-19 by making cloth masks for abortion clinic patients and providers in Ohio!

The CDC currently recommends wearing cloth face coverings in public settings, and WHO/O is working to help clinics provide their patients with cloth masks upon arrival at their clinics. Clinics are also engaging patients in important conversations about staying safe and healthy during this pandemic.

Cloth face coverings are important to help slow the spread of this virus. They are intended help reduce the spread of droplets from the nose and mouth of asymptomatic patients, who may not know they are infected COVID-19. These masks are not intended for health center staff who will continue to wear medical-grade personal protection equipment (PPE).

* We're asking for help providing simple cotton masks. We're collecting fitted masks, masks with pleats, masks with filer pockets, using elastic, bias tape, ear loops, ribbon, etc. Research shows 100% cotton works best, but any cotton materials will be acceptable. They should be a couple of layers of fabric and freshly laundered.

This is a super helpful way for you to immediately help your local abortion providers and their patients. We will be in touch about how to get your masks to the folks who need them. Thank you for being a mask-making hero!
