Legislative Testimony
We are active advocates for reproductive justice in Ohio and have testified before the Ohio General Assembly on a variety of issues affecting reproductive health and access to health services. Below is some of the testimony we have submitted:
- November 2014 – Submitted testimony in opposition to another version of the Heartbeat Bill abortion ban.
- May 2013—Three hurtful anti-choice provisions inserted into a proposed budget: 1) an attempt to change the method for allocating family planning funds with the goal of defunding Planned Parenthood, 2) an attempt to fund anti-choice “crisis pregnancy centers” with state funds, and 3) a measure meant to regulate abortion providers out of business.
- April 2012—Attempt to change the method that Ohio uses to allocate family planning funds to clinics around the state with the goal of defunding Planned Parenthood
- December 2011—“Heartbeat Bill” abortion ban, which would ban abortion once a fetal heartbeat could be detected, which can be as early as six weeks, before many women even know they are pregnant
